Frequently asked questions

What does a DofE Assessor do?
A DofE Assessor supervises and officially assesses young people during their expedition section of the Duke of Edinburgh Award. Elia provides route assessment, on-expedition support, and the written assessment report required to complete the award.
Can Elia assess independent expeditions?
Yes. If your group is completing a self-supported expedition, Elia can act as the assessor — observing the expedition and signing off the required documentation without leading the route.
Does Elia work with schools and youth groups?
Absolutely. Elia regularly works with schools and youth organisations running DofE programmes. If you're coordinating multiple groups or award levels, get in touch to discuss logistics.
Which award levels does Elia cover?
Bronze, Silver, and Gold. Whether it's a first-time Bronze participant or a Gold candidate on a challenging multi-day route, Elia has the experience to assess at every level.
